Fall Décor Feels

Well it’s about that time again…time to break out the pumpkins and all the fall feels. There’s just something about this time of year that makes one feel fresh and renewed. Maybe it’s the cooler weather, maybe it’s the open windows and doors, maybe it’s the Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING! Whatever it may be, there is something magical about the fall season. It’s super fun to decorate for fall but the bright oranges, browns, and dark reds are not really my flavor. At least not all combined together with no neutral break. So I decided to add some blues into my fall décor this year and to do that I simply updated some items from last year and added only a few new things here and there.I started by painting some of last years pumpkins blue and you can read all about that post here. Now where did I come up with the blue? I researched some fall color palettes (and shared three of them here) and I fell in love with one palette that included a few blue colors. It’s an unexpected pop that I think neutralizes all the oranges. The other inspiration I had for this years fall décor were the encyclopedias I found at a thrift store. Now, I know, how can encylopedias inspire a fall décor look? Well I had my palette and I saw these beautiful blue books and knew they would be perfect! You can read more about that find here.I purchased a few things from Hobby Lobby as well as fillers and a few more pumpkins because one can never have too many pumpkins.I also look to the Dollar Tree for some cheap pumpkins that I can paint. I did find the perfect burnt orange and red pumpkins to add a little warmth to the blues so I didn’t have to paint those. Win for me!Now onto my fall prints. These prints incorporated all the colors I had in my fall color palette so I knew they would be perfect backdrops on my shelving. I have four different fall prints currently available in my Etsy shop which you can view here.

Well there ya have it. I have some pumpkins scattered in the bedroom and some fall additions to the kitchen as well but I usually concentrate on the dining space and the living room as those spaces are the easiest to add in all the fall feels. What’s your favorite season to decorate for? What does your color palette look like this year?
