Growing up in the North it was a big deal to trench out into the woods or Christmas tree farms for hours at a time scouring the land for the perfect Christmas tree to cut down. It was a tradition I grew up with and carried with me. I remember after finding our family tree we would stop at the little farm stand that was fully equipped with warm donuts, hot chocolate, and apple cider.

I vowed I would never EVER decorate with an artificial tree. Now enter the move to Florida along with it’s drastic climate change and no tree farms in sight. We tried our best with the first couple of Christmases here in our new Florida home using REAL trees. We didn’t have the joy and satisfaction of cutting them down but they were legit and had the legit Christmas tree smell!
Well, after those couple of years and many, many dried up needles later I came to a conclusion. We would need to start a new tradition because this home was about to become an artificial, tree-loving home.
