Fall Moth DIY
Imagine swapping out spooky bats for fluttery moths in your fall decor! Instead of menacing shadows, you’d have a swarm of confused moths bumping into your porch light, turning your haunted house into a buzzing light show. Their erratic flight patterns would leave your guests wondering if your place is more "haunted forest" or "accidental entomologist's dream." Plus, forget fake cobwebs—moths would leave a trail of real ones as they zigzag through your decorations. Just make sure your guests don't wear anything woolen, or those moths might start redecorating them too!
On the blog today I’d like to share how I created my own swarm of moths for our fall decor. First was finding a simple outline of a moth. You can create your own or just do a quick google search. I opted for a few different types of moths to create some interest on my walls.
I simply printed the outline of my chosen moths, cut them out and used them as a stencil. I traced them onto black construction paper because I’m fancy like that and then proceeded to cut those out. With a fold of the wings you create a more 3D version of your flying moth. I used glue dots to adhere to the underside of the moths and then placed them sporadically onto my wall.
