An Inspired Nostalgic Gingerbread Wreath
I think we've all see the Gingerbread House Wreath from Anthropologie circle the internet and social media lately. We've also seen the creators that have DIY'd their own. Hence, I was inspired by Liz Marie (@lizmariegalvan) and her spin on the Anthro wreath. You can see her DIY tutorial on her blog here.
If you've been around for a while you may have received the memo that I am a neutral-loving gal. When prompted to recreate my own gingerbread house wreath I knew I wanted to keep my items as neutral as possible. Therefore, the foundation of the piece is the amazing wreath I found on EXTREME sale from Target. Unfortunately, I could not find it in stock online but you may have luck in scoring your own if you rummage through the discount sections.

Additionally, I knew I wanted to keep the cutie gingerbread houses I found from the Target Dollar Spot at the bottom of the wreath but I needed the bottom to be flanked by more sprigs to make it fuller. The houses and sprigs were anchor points on this DIY creations. The snow grass stems are the exact sprigs I used and at $5 a piece you couldn't go wrong.

As for the gingerbread houses I think we all know the dollar spot struggle so if you want to recreate this look RUN to your nearest Target to snag them up because they will go fast! Especially with the viral wreath DIY swirling around the interwebs. Consequently, I did try to find some neutral houses but didn't have much luck thus I would recommend purchasing gingerbread house ornaments and then you could spray paint them white, cream, ivory or a super bright color. Whichever sets your heart on fire.

Lastly, the addition to the already neutral winter wonderland were my simple choice of ribbons. Again, creams, ivories, and beige because, well...that's me! Here are some amazing options I found on Amazon.
My finished project did not come without it's own struggles. Although they are super adorable, securing the houses took a lot of finesse and a whole lot of hot glue and floral wire but I got it done! Just don't brush up against her....or even sneeze by her or the houses could come falling down. Hahahaha!
In addition to this project fulfilling my passion for all things creative, I hope that this little DIY inspires you to create your own work of wonderland art! The total cost for this was $32. I told you, the last season wreath was a STEAL!!! (hello $12)
