Adding Christmas to a Friend’s Home
Christmas is a time of coming together and friends become more like family. I had the honor of helping a dear friend deck the halls in her beautiful home for her and her sweet family to enjoy this season. While I love decorating my own home I really loved the process of bringing Christmas cheer to another person’s space. With my friend, we came up with a game plan and executed that game plan like shopping pros! I think having a plan, and a budget, really helps with decorating any space for any season.

She knew she wanted greenery and lots of it! So with the help of some amazing greenery from Michaels I created a custom garland that went down the center of their dining room table. The candles she already had and they were perfect to add some height and interest. See some similar items at the end of this post.
I sold her on the Christmas Tree farm idea on her buffet and she spotted the boho style beaded trees from Hobby Lobby. The beaded trees went well with the rest of her modern coastal home. We brought out the galvanized bases of these trees with the rustic farmhouse style galvanized cone trees. We balanced the woods and metals with the trees on either side. The sign was another Hobby Lobby find and made for the perfect backdrop to the Christmas Tree farm. The neutral linen that lines the buffet was just cut fabric from Joann. And let’s not forget the Aria diffuser from Young Living. A dash of Balsam Fir or Northern Lights Black Spruce essential oils and you get the true scent of all things Christmas!I added some Christmas to the mantel in their living room. Again I made a custom garland and created some natural hanging elements. The candles again were ones she already owned. Two new wreaths and a few sprigs of greenery, berries and magnolia flowers on the arched mirror in their entry greets guests as they come in. You’re instantly hit with Holiday cheer.I really had a blast decorating for my friend and her darling family. Have you all started to deck the halls yet? Share with me in the comments!
